Organic
Decay Sensor ![]()
The Organic Decay Sensor works by detecting organic compounds in the air around potato piles which indicate that the vegetables are infected. Bacterial soft rot is one of the biggest problems in the bulk storage of crops. The bacteria turns potatoes into soft, rotten wet tissue and can spread through the whole vegetable storage. The infection also causes an increase in the concentration of smelly organic compounds in the storage. Gellert's ODS-47 gives an advance warning and trending of changes in the storage.
The sensor looks at 16 different gases and can detect quantities of 10 ppm or less. The sensor mounts in the return air of the storage and gives a direct readout at Gellert's Galaxy Panels. This data is saved as records and can then be analyzed using Gellert's AgriBase software.
